Privacy Policy

Breakout ("we", "the app") is a free sports-trading game where you buy and sell athletes with virtual Coins. Coins have no cash value and cannot be bought, sold, or withdrawn. This page explains what information the app collects and how it is used.

What we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
• Game data. Your Coins balance, holdings, trades, watchlist, friends, comments, leaderboard standing, and profile settings, so your account works across devices.
• Notification data. If you turn on notifications, a device token so we can send push notifications such as price moves, replies, and mentions. You can turn these off at any time in your device or browser settings.
• Usage analytics. Basic, aggregated usage data (pages viewed, app version, device and browser type, approximate region) collected through Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used and to fix problems.
• Data stored on your device. The app keeps preferences and cached prices in your browser's local storage so it loads quickly.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect payment card details. The current version of the app is Coins-only and has no purchases.
• We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party ads.
• We do not collect your precise location.

How we use information

• To run your account, show your portfolio and rank, and keep prices and standings consistent for all players.
• To send notifications you have opted in to.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
• To understand, in aggregate, which features are used.

Who handles your data

We use these service providers to operate the app. Each processes data under its own privacy terms:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore database, Cloud Messaging, Analytics) — account sign-in, game data storage, notifications, analytics.
• Cloudflare — hosting and the servers that calculate athlete prices.

Player prices are based on public sports statistics from sources such as ESPN. Your personal data is not sent to those sources.

Your username, profile picture, leaderboard rank, and any comments you post are visible to other players. Your holdings are visible to others only if you choose to make them public in your profile settings.

Future features

If we later offer paid contests, we would collect additional information needed to do so lawfully, such as identity verification and location eligibility through a payment and verification provider, and we would update this policy and ask for your agreement before that happens.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below, and we will delete it within a reasonable time, except where we must keep information to comply with the law or prevent abuse.

Children

Breakout is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Turn off notifications in your device or browser settings.
• Clear locally stored app data by clearing your browser's site data.
• Request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version, and we will note material changes in the app.
